The Great Tondini

Number 3 moved into a big boy bed a few weeks ago and in order to be sure he doesn’t get out and wonder the house at night we put a gate up at his door. Our bedroom is on the main level and it sort of freaked me out to have him so far during this transition. Well, last Saturday night I woke up at 2:45am to the sound of footsteps on the stairs…he had CLIMBED the gate and started his decent down the stairs when I met up with him. Heaven help us!

By the way, we’re officially ready to announce the pending arrival of a new member of the Tribe. Due sometime around late August/early September. And, no, we’re not hoping for a girl! ;-) Healthy baby is the only request. We’ll keep you posted when we find out, though!

Also, thank you for all the condolences on the death of Rose. We appreciate the thoughts and prayers immensely.

Mom

R.I.P. Nana

Most of you know that Rose “Nana” passed away on Jan 14th.  She was known as “Nana” to the boys.  They said she was a “great” grandma.  She was always fun and “crazy”.  She will be dearly missed but not forgotten.  We all have too many of her traits to forget about her :-) .  It was a tragic death but there is a lesson to be learned from it.  Please practice your fire safety with your children but also refresh the grand parents on how to perform their fire safety.

Good bye “Nana”, we love you.

Jedi Juli

Our dog is neurotic. When she gets nervous–which is anytime a phone rings or the doorbell rings or she knows we’re getting ready to leave–she finds something to pick up and carry around in her mouth. Usually it’s a shoe but sometimes it’s a toy. Today, it was the kids’ light saber. She’s done it before and it’s just the funniest thing. This time, I had the camera close.

Crafty Day

This morning we visited a local raptor rehabilitation center where over injured raptors (hawks, eagles, owls, etc.) go to rehabilitate and either be resent into the wild or to live out the rest of the years. It’s a wonderful place. I just love owls so it was really cool to get to see some up close. This prompted a little softie creativity for the older two boys. Ethan’s is a screech owl, the smaller one, and his name is Screech. Matt’s is the bigger one and his name is Barry (the Barred Owl). We had a lot of fun.

Happy New Year from The Tribe!

The older boys have just started back to school so #3 and I are once again all alone in the house.  Ahhh…the quiet…

Here is a picture of what we made to take to a New Year’s party at our neighbor’s house.  Number 2 is very much into cooking and Santa brought him an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas so I’m posting a picture of him making some sort of yummy concoction with a 100 watt lightbulb. At first, I thought he was more into the eating than the cooking but he really enjoys the process of cooking.  We call him Chef Matt. :)

Santa Came to Town…Uh Church…

Tonight we took the boys to a church event and Santa was there! This was the 1st time Tony saw Santa. It was so cute to see him in amazement. It kept laughing and saying “Hi” and waving to him. He loved it. He even sat on his lap and got a present! Here are pics of Tony and the 2 big boys.

The Three Wisemen

This display is up at our YMCA and the boys decided last night that they should stand by it and be the three wisemen.  Matt got up there with the other two and said “I’m the wisest.”  :)   I took it with my cell phone so the quality isn’t that great.  Sorry!

Weather…

Ok, I have to rub it in.  This is one of those days where I am glad to be in North Carolina.  I see that it was around 20 degrees in Indy and tomorrow will warm for you guys to about 34 degrees.  Today it was 68 degrees and tomorrow is going to be colder at around 60 degrees.  But, we will be in the 70’s on Thursday and Friday.  I see that Indy will be warming up to 60 on Thursday but down again to the 40’s on Friday.  Ok, that’s it for my little weather forecast :-)

What was I thinking?!?

So a few months ago when we kicked off the popcorn sale in our Cub Scout Pack, I told the boys that whoever sold $1000 in popcorn could throw a pie in the face of a leader of their choice.  Well, tonight was the night and I was the lucky winner of TWO pies in the face.  Number 1 was the top seller in our pack with just over $1200 in sales so he was one of the pie throwers.  I think he’s been waiting all his life for this opportunity.  Mom made me promise that I would get pix posted asap so here you go, Mom!

Here I am handing out our 3rd place prize: a Digital Camera…Looking all BSA-approved!!

Pie #2   Notice Number 2 behind me…

Taking off my goggles…I had to be a LITTLE safe!

I can honestly say that I have never had so many people laughing at my expense at one time.  There must have been 50 people in that room and most of the parents were saying “Get her!”.  It was such a great time and totally worth it to raise $2000 for our pack!  I couldn’t be more proud!

Thanksgiving in the Mountains

For our first Thanksgiving ‘on our own’ we headed up to the mountains.  We were literally at the top of this mountain where we stayed in a lovely log cabin.  It was wonderful!  This was our view.

Jeep!

Yea!  I got another Jeep!  This is my 3rd Jeep (1 Wrangler and 2 Cherokees). It’s a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Country.  It is in really good shape for being 14 years old.  Here is a picture of it:

TWOsday!

He’s TWO on TUESDAY!!!  Happy Birthday to #3!!!  He woke up this morning to balloons covering the living room floor and an Elmo balloon on his kitchen chair.  AND, Mano and Warry bought him his very first car!   As I type this he’s running around like crazy chasing balloons with his big brothers.  We have a fun day planned for him that includes a trip to our local museum, a small birthday party tonight and, of course, VOTING!  Don’t forget to VOTE!
