The boys and I met my friend Tammy for lunch yesterday at (where else?) Mi Amigo’s in Beech Grove. As we were talking/eating, Ethan held up his cup and said “Hey, Mommy, this is recyclable. It’s a number 1!”
Our little tree huggers… Gotta love it!

Or at a minimum recycle certain items. I was at a business last week and I was talking to someone that was throwing computers in the trash. And he said while he was throwing the computers in the trash the computers were landing on fluorescent light bulbs and smashing them. I was amazed that corporations are forced to recycle especially items like fluorescent bulbs and computers. I am not sure if there is a recycling process for fluorescent bulbs but, I know they need to be disposed of properly because of the mercury in them. What if corporations actually recycled everything that they could recycle…
So, we recently started recycling through our trash pick up people. They charge us something like $17 a month for this service. Weird that you have to pay someone for recycling but, as least we don’t have to sort it, tear off labels, or take it anywhere. They pick it up the same day they pick up the trash. We can only take their word that they are actually recycling it
. So far my only complaints are that they only take number 1 and number 2 plastics and they don’t take cardboard. Since we started recycling we have had a lot less trash. That has been nice.
